Description
Chickweed salve has a long been used to soothe itchy, inflamed skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Chickweed has been traditionally used as a salve to cool hot and dry skin conditions, to alleviate itch, bug and insect bites, and calm inflammation.
In Irish, Chickweed is Fliodh. Traditionally used as a fodder crop for poultry, as a famine food and a pot green in lean times. In Irish folk medicine it was popular as a hot poultice on sprains and any kind of inflammation, and on sores and cuts.
A nourishing skin salve with no known contraindications.
External use: Apply a small amount of salve to affected areas. A little goes a long way.
Ingredients: Olive oil, Chickweed and Beeswax.
